Location was far off the beaten track; beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. Room was extremely quiet and comfortable - largest and most comfortable bed we've ever slept in away from home! Breakfast was like banquet with so much choice- kippers, salmon, cereal, full english etc! Pub was oldy worldy with lovely welcoming fire with friendly helpful staff. Restaurant food looked excellent; we only ate one evening meal there as were out all day until late. Lovely place, hope to revisit one day. Thank you Jackie and team.

The owner made us very welcome, with thoughtful touches to recognize our 40th wedding anniversary. All the staff were very friendly. The food was amazing and not to be missed. Some of the recipes were included in a beautiful book (available to purchase) about the hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a view of the surrounding hills. We enjoyed the sauna and hot tub which also looked out to the sheep on the hills.

Kate

A beautiful, cosy pub with a large open fire, in front of which we spent a lovely afternoon. Pleasant staff, especially Margo and Jackie. A wonderfully delicious evening meal, highly recommended! Large comfortable bed, really clean warm rooms and the home made biscuits were a lovely touch. A large, tasty breakfast. Thank you! We had a fantastic stay!

The Hand is a charming hotel in beautiful surroundings. We loved the pub area. A wood fire was burning and the room was so cozy. The dining room was beautiful too and our dinner was delicious. We walked to the nearby church where there are huge evergreens that have been there for years and are loved and visited by many.
